Pay Range - The Lead position pay is based on credentials and experience, starting at $25/hr. Calling All Music Lovers! We are seeking a Part-Time Music Specialist to bring rhythm, movement, and a whole lot of joy to our preschoolers across several campuses. Details Position: Music Specialist (Part-Time) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:30 AM–1:00 PM Campuses: Apple Ridge/Gaithersburg, Darnestown, North Potomac, and Greenwood/Hyattsville As our new Music Specialist, you’ll: - Lead playful, engaging music enrichment sessions for preschool students - Introduce children to rhythm, instruments, songs, and creative movement - Spread positivity (and catchy tunes!) across our campuses - Partner with teachers to help make each classroom sing—literally This role is mornings only (9:30 AM–1:00 PM), Monday–Friday, making it a great option for someone looking to add a creative specialty to their schedule. There may also be opportunities to grow into a full-time position. Because you’ll be visiting multiple Georgetown Hill locations, you’ll need reliable transportation—and a playlist for the drive doesn’t hurt. ???? Travel to the following locations is required: - Apple Ridge/Gaithersburg - Tucked into the Montgomery Village neighborhoods, our campus serves upper Montgomery County; Germantown, Gaithersburg, Clarksburg, and Goshen areas. - Darnestown - This beautiful campus is located right in the heart of Darnestown on Route 28, convenient to Gaithersburg, Germantown, Kentlands, and North Potomac - North Potomac - Our campus is just down from the intersection of Route 28 and Muddy Branch Road. Conveniently located close to RIO, Downtown Crown, Kentlands, and more - Greenwood/Hyattsville - Our campus is an approved private school and NAEYC-accredited. Located next door to PG Plaza (Metro Accessible) Who Will Love This Job - Teachers who light up when music starts playing - Anyone who enjoys working with preschoolers through playful, hands-on experiences - Someone excited to be a “traveling specialist” across our GHES community - Educators looking for a flexible part-time role with room to grow Qualifications The minimum requirements for Music Specialists in our preschool program are the MSDE 90hr Preschool Certification or a CDA with the preschool endorsement. Our ideal candidate will have 2 or more years of experience teaching music to preschool children, and the following: - Proficiency in at least one instrument - Comfortable singing in front of groups of children and teachers - The ability to manage the physical demands of a preschool setting. This includes but is not limited to: sitting on the floor, getting up quickly from the floor, lifting up to 40 pounds, reaching and lifting above your head, etc. - MSDE 90hr certification or CDA certification with Preschool endorsement preferred - Reliable transportation (this position requires local travel) - Understanding of the principles of child development and teaching methods - A personal demeanor that is warm, friendly, and cool-tempered - Extremely reliable in attendance and punctuality - Organized and able to prioritize and multi-task - Team-oriented and willing to work with others Per Maryland State Department of Education Office of Child Care regulations, all applicants must submit to and successfully pass a state and federal background check as a contingency of employment. Applicants for our federal center campuses must receive GSA-security clearance through a government background screening.
