Position: Business Development, Foundations & Corporates
Consultant.
Reports to: Deputy Director, Foundations & Corporates.
Location: East Coast US.
Duration: 6 months.
Hours: 30 hours/week.
Start Date: End of June.
Position Overview:
Living Goods seeks a Business Development, Foundations & Corporates
Consultant for a 6-month fixed-term position to cover parental
leave. The role will be responsible for supporting Living Goods'
fundraising efforts, ensuring consistent, high-quality, and timely
donor engagement that strengthens the organization's financial
sustainability and donor relationships.
Objectives:
The Consultant will be responsible for advancing Living Goods'
strategic fundraising efforts, managing donor relationships, and
securing funding to support organizational priorities during this
interim period.
Scope of Work:
- Donor Relationship Management: Support maintained and
strengthened relationships with existing donors through regular
communication, updates, and engagement opportunities.
- Cross-Team Coordination: Work closely with Living Goods'
finance, programs, compliance, and leadership teams to coordinate
donor engagement activities and ensure consistent messaging.
- Internal Capacity Building
- Implement Foundation and Corporate team fundraising strategy by
managing the assigned donor pipeline, ensuring alignment with
organizational priorities and revenue targets.
- Contribute to financial forecasting and other strategic
planning elements, as required.
- Concept and Proposal Development:
- Project manage a proposal development process for each new
opportunity.
- Guide creation of timelines, partner mapping, TOC, narrative,
budget, budget narrative, and any additional external
requirements.
- Collaborate across programs, finance, PEI (performance,
evidence, and insight), compliance, and leadership teams to align
proposals with organizational strategy
- Lead process for revision and submission so proposals are on
time, in scope, and have the proper sign-off from the review
team.
- Grant Reports and Impact Updates:
- Project manages report process for each active grant when
deliverables are due.
- Guide the creation of report development timeline, narrative,
budget, and budget narrative, and any additional external
requirements.
- Collaborate across programs, finance, PEI, compliance, and
leadership teams to align reports.
- Lead process for revision and submission of reports.
- Fundraising Materials Development:
- Prepare materials for donor meetings and pitch presentations,
including strategy positioning.
- Collaborate with the writing team on donor-focused
content.Deliverables:
- Monthly fundraising pipeline updates, including submissions and
moves management.
- Close to 3 new funding proposals or concept notes per
month.
- Coordination with the writing team for updated donor-facing
outreach materials and strategy-aligned case for support documents
for different funding priorities.
- Managing priority account plans and consistent updates to CRM
and knowledge management systems.
- Timely donor reports and grant compliance documentation.
- Support regular donor engagement through meetings, calls, and
written updates.Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in fundraising, development, grant and
project management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience implementing fundraising strategies and
managing donor portfolios.
- Excellent writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coordinate across multicultural, geographically
dispersed teams.
- Knowledge of global health, international development, or a
related sector is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently, be flexible, and manage multiple
priorities under tight deadlines.Timelines:
- Position to begin as soon as possible.
- Duration: 6 months (parental leave coverage).Evaluation
Criteria:
- Proven experience in fundraising leadership within an INGO
setting.
- Demonstrated technical expertise to meet fundraising targets
and deliverables.
- Hourly expectations aligned with organizational
