Job Description:
Freedman Consulting, LLC, a mission-driven consulting firm, seeks a
Project Director to support the firm's technology policy practice
area and related client efforts. The Project Director will conduct
and direct client projects that include strategic advising and
planning, policy development and analysis, coalition support, and
client management. The Project Director will lead a portfolio of
projects featuring a wide variety of technology policy and related
issues, potentially including artificial intelligence, platform
regulation, competition, disinformation, the intersection of
technology and disability, spyware, emerging technology policy
issues, and more. The Project Director will join a growing team of
almost 50 staff members working at the intersection of policy,
philanthropy, and politics.
Firm Overview
Freedman Consulting, LLC, offers strategic consulting services to
foundations, nonprofit organizations, and public interest
coalitions, partnering with many of the nation's leading
philanthropic institutions. Our work includes strategic planning
and issue landscaping for major foundations, campaign advising and
coordination for coalitions, and policy development for a variety
of advocacy and political campaigns and spans topics including
public-private partnerships, economic mobility, criminal justice
reform, and technology policy.
Primary Responsibilities
The Project Director will be expected to advance technology
policy-focused work streams and develop deliverables with minimal
oversight. They will play a key role in designing and overseeing
deliverable development, while being accountable for client goals
and relationships, timelines, work quality, and supervision of
other team members. Working closely with Vice Presidents and other
members of the senior leadership team, the Project Director will
lead the development of project strategy, help define goals,
develop actionable plans to execute project strategies, and oversee
their implementation or do so directly. The position may also
contribute to business planning and new business development.

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:
At least 7-10 years of previous policy, legislative, advocacy,
consulting, communications, and/or research experience is
preferred, with additional preference given to demonstrated
experience or expertise in technology policy topics. Applicants
must possess excellent writing and analytical skills,
problem-solving acumen, demonstrated management capabilities,
strong presentation and facilitation skills, and the ability to
think through complex policy issues critically and strategically.
They should be adept in navigating ambiguity, resourceful in
identifying and navigating obstacles, have strong ability to
respond flexibly to changing circumstances, and excellent ability
to distill complex information into clear, actionable insights and
produce compelling frameworks.
Full salary range for this position is $115,000 to $130,000. In
addition to base annual compensation, Freedman Consulting offers a
comprehensive benefits package and discretionary annual bonus based
on individual and firm performance. The starting salary is
determined based on the candidate's knowledge, skills, experience,
internal equity considerations, and budget availability. To apply,
