Under general supervision of a senior traffic technician in the
Public Works and Capital Projects Department, an employee in this
position will assist with the daily operations and maintenance of
traffic signals throughout the Town of Leesburg, investigate and
report signal/traffic related issues, help review and resolve
citizen complaints regarding traffic, and data collection. This
position requires working outside in all types of weather
conditions, direct contact with Town citizens, working safely with
vehicular and pedestrian traffic, and being on-call for emergency
response as needed outside of normal working hours.

- Possession of a valid driver's license and a safe driving
- International Municipal Signal Associate (IMSA) Work Zone
Traffic Control within one (1) year of employment.
- Level I International Municipal Signal Associate (IMSA) Traffic
Signal Inspection Certification within one (1) year of
- Technical school or college courses in Electrical Technologies,
such as Computer Science, Computer Applications or other technology
based education relating to traffic signal
- Experience in traffic control work.
- Understanding of traffic signal utility installations and
- Commercial Driver's License or ability to obtain within six (6)
months of employment.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish.
