Marriott achieve its vision to be the world favorite travel company
by transforming the customer domain and identity management journey
on our shared platform. Provide leadership for Privacy initiatives
and Data Governance. Manage relationship with business discipline
and Legal teams to ensure IT processes, initiatives, and investment
maintain company compliance with global and emerging privacy
regulations. This role will contribute to the integration and
advancement of Marriott’s modernization & digital transformation
efforts. Partners with business and Legal to define and manage an
Enterprise Privacy and Data Governance model and processes to
promote and enforce Privacy by Design principles, and partners with
Security to define changes in processes to support Data Governance.
In this role, you will lead the business planning for Privacy
initiatives with an understanding of priorities and the ability to
clearly articulate IT capabilities. You will manage large-scale
functional and cross-functional initiatives that require
coordination across business discipline and IT to deliver
incremental value against a multi-year roadmap. CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience Required: 7 years’ relevant work
experience with 5 years’ experience in policy and data driven
programs or privacy engineering technology projects that include
Ability to effectively communicate with executive and delivery
teams. Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others.
Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts constructively, drive
direction and focus while having limited information. Managing
relationships with business customers, IT organizations and
external service providers Ability to assess customer/client needs,
creatively approach solutions, and decide and influence appropriate
courses of action. Converting business needs into technology
requirements and working within IT to manage project executions.
Ability to understand and drive towards the strategic goals as well
as dive into details, including doing research and complex
analysis. Working with data driven initiatives, governance, or
complex technology projects that touch multiple systems. Very
strong technically with experience manipulating data across diverse
platforms and technologies. Ability to dissect vague requests from
non-technical stakeholders into clear actionable tasks and outcomes
Ability to converse in technical terms with engineering teams as
well as in non-technical speak that business can understand 3 years
working with cross functional team analysts, project managers, and
product owners. Technical background Proven experience working with
complex SQL on large datasets Strong Python programming ability to
manipulate structured and unstructured data Strong understanding of
AWS access management, AWS libraries (e.g., AWS Wrangler) and
utilities. 5 years of experience using multiple programming
languages developing batch or microservices. 3 years of experience
developing cloud-based technology solutions using AWS developer
tools. 3 years of experience building enterprise scale applications
(front-end or back-end) 3 years of experience working and querying
Snowflake database, Athena or Presto Familiarity with GIT, Jupyter
notebooks. Understanding of Marriott data models for Reservation,
Profile, and Property domains in Marriott Data Platform (MDP)
4-year degree or equivalent experience/certification Preferred:
Experience in implementing technology processes across large
organization. Experience leading software development teams, guide
solutioning, and ensuring solutions meet business needs and
supports growth. Demonstrated knowledge of Data Management and
Reporting/Analytics related business functions and applications.
Demonstrated resourcefulness in responding to issues under time
constraint. Excellent analytical skills where problems are very
unusual and extremely difficult. Proven experience in planning,
budgeting, and analysis within one or more business groups.
Experience with development of program and project standards in a
sourced environment. Ability to understand and communicate the
lifecycle of technologies and applications and to translate into
business strategies for the client organizations. Ability to
accomplish results through others, particularly by establishing
relationships, effective controls and partnering in a managed
service environment. Prior experience in customer domain, MDM,
Profile Management, Privacy, data localization, and Identity

Financial, Contract and Risk Management Provides input to
discipline partners to develop annual budgets Partners with other
IT groups to provide financial transparency to discipline partners
Manages technology roadmaps to guide solutions along a common path
as well as retirement or migration of lesser-used or expensive to
maintain technologies. Aligns with Security and Privacy to validate
that processes are followed to protect and secure customer and/or
associate data Engages with Vendor Relations to develop service
agreements with external companies on behalf of the discipline as
needed IT Governance Follows all defined IR standards and processes
(i.e., IT Governance, SM&G, Architecture, etc.), and provides
input for improvements to the appropriate process owners as needed
Maintains a proper balance between business and operational risk
