Telework Eligible Yes Major Duties Serves as a supervisory team
lead responsible for managing LAN personnel and equipment within an
assigned region over the overall LAN Management Branch scope.
Functions as an expert in the planning, design, engineering,
implementation, and management of DLA's Local Area Networks and
support areas. Acts as Technical Point of Contact (TPOC): Where
work is contracted out, performs a wide range of technical input
and oversight tasks. Analyze benefits and costs of in-house versus
contract work; develop/provide technical requirements and
descriptions of the work to be accomplished. Serves as a senior
technical expert within the DLA J64 LAN Management branch
concerning network needs, plans, situations, and problems. Prepares
and delivers executive briefings pertaining to J64 LAN Management
architecture to high level management, customers and DLA
Headquarters. Qualification Summary To qualify for a Supervisory IT
Specialist (NETWORK), your resume and supporting documentation must
support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized
experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to
successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in
or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level,
applicants must possess one year of specialized experience
equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems
in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must
meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General
Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment,
minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by
the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable
specialized experience includes: Configures, installs, and supports
Local Area Network devices; Gathers and provides network report
metrics for bandwidth utilization, user and application response
time. Establishes criteria, supporting or managing projects,
troubleshooting hardware/software, reviewing network load,
recommending load balancing, and verifying backups; Implements
network changes utilizing established change management procedures
and documentation Analyzes, evaluates, and advises on the current
and predicted future operational, technical, and data views of
Local Area Networks. Oversees architecture of network routers,
switches, etc. Responsible for project management and developing
the technical process to execute deployment as well as oversight of
the deployment, installation, STIG'ing, and ATO requirements for
existing and new network equipment. B. Education: Applicants may
not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of
specialized experience. For all positions individuals must have
IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies

Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of
information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate
alternatives, and to make recommendations. Experience refers to
paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through
National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other
organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious,
spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build
critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide
valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid
employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience,
including volunteer experience.
