Job Description:
MedStar Health, a leading non-profit healthcare organization, is
seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist to join our dedicated team
in the DMV area. This role focuses on providing compassionate and
comprehensive mental health services, supporting patient-first care
initiatives, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary
teams to improve patient outcomes. The successful candidate will
leverage their expertise in mental health to assist with
intervention strategies, patient assessments, and advocating for
mental health resources. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments
to determine psychological, emotional, and behavioral issues.
Develop and implement treatment plans based on patient-specific
needs. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate
mental health services with other healthcare plans. Provide crisis
intervention services as needed. Educate patients and families on
mental health conditions and coping mechanisms. Document all
patient interactions and treatments accurately and comprehensively
in the patient medical record. Strong interpersonal and
communication skills Ability to handle stressful situations with
professionalism Proficient in electronic health record (EHR)
systems Knowledge of various therapeutic modalities and
interventions Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance
Life Insurance 401k Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or
equivalent Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC)
