Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Washington, DC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,252 per week Shift Information: 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/27/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day/Night 3x12 Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2 Years Preferred License: Must have an active RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Must provide proof of pending license status at time of submission. - Must have active license prior to start date. Description: The role involves working in a critical care unit specializing in advanced heart failure and other cardiovascular interventions. Candidates will rotate shifts every 2 to 4 weeks between day and night shifts. Flexibility in scheduling is required. The nurse will manage patients who require life-supporting devices and medications. Duties include obtaining 12 lead EKGs, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care. The role also involves continuous IV sedation, emergency medication administration, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips. The nurse will care for ventilated patients and be knowledgeable in infection prevention, isolation precautions, and phlebotomy. Additional skills required include the interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction. The unit includes interdisciplinary support from various specialized teams. Patient demographics include adults and geriatrics with diagnoses of advanced heart failure, coronary artery disease, and other cardiovascular conditions. The average daily census is 20 patients with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio during both day and night shifts. Candidates must complete a competency exam before starting.
