ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Tele Job Details: • Work 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM • Open to 48-hour contracts • Rotating weekends required (every other weekend - Friday/Saturday nights) • Holiday rotation as needed based on unit requirements • Patient ratio of 1:5 for both day and night shifts • Float rarely but may float to ICU overflow, tele, ortho, or med-surg units • Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) • BSN not required • First-time travelers accepted • 1-2 day floor-specific orientation depending on experience • Use EPIC electronic medical record system • Phillips cardiac monitors with telemetry strip reading every 4 hours • Dress code: Navy blue scrubs, navy or white jacket, white or navy undershirt, natural hair colors only, distasteful tattoos must be covered • Work with common diagnoses including elevated troponin, active chest pain, pre/post cardiac catheterization, STEMI/NSTEMI patients, pacemaker patients, peritoneal dialysis, and occasional post-surgical and oncology patients • Manage set-rate drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Labetalol, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Heparin, Integrilin, and Nitroglycerin • Opportunities for precepting and charge nurse responsibilities • Schedule requests entered through Kronos system at least 2 weeks in advance • Block scheduling available if included in contract • Client may cancel 2 shifts per 13-week assignment and 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks Facility: This medical center operates a progressive care unit/telemetry department with two floors totaling 42 beds. The 2nd floor features 20 private rooms and is planned to transition to a higher-acuity stepdown unit, while the 6th floor maintains 22 beds with mixed private and semi-private rooms focused on telemetry-level care. The facility provides 24/7 hospitalist coverage, in-house respiratory therapy, pharmacy services, and comprehensive cardiac monitoring capabilities with Phillips cardiac monitors and central monitoring stations.
