MedStar Health, a leading not-for-profit healthcare organization in the DMV area, is seeking an Acute Care Occupational Therapist to join our team. This position requires a compassionate professional focused on providing patient-centered care in an acute care setting. You will be responsible for assessing patient needs, planning and administering therapeutic activities, and evaluating outcomes to facilitate rehabilitation and optimal functional ability. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to improving patients' quality of life and proficient in the latest therapist techniques and treatments pertinent to acute care environments. Evaluate patients' conditions and develop appropriate occupational therapy treatment plans. Implement therapeutic interventions to restore function and prevent disability following injury or illness. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. Document and track patient progress and outcomes. Educate patients and their families about post-acute care management and therapeutic techniques. Adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Expertise in acute care therapy techniques and modalities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to handle a high caseload and prioritize tasks. Proficient in using medical software and rehabilitation equipment. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid state occupational therapy license. NBCOT Certification required.
