Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Washington, DC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,101 per week Shift Information: 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Washington, Washington DC, 20007! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day and Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: DC RN License required; pending license acceptable for later start Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Charge experience preferred - Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Experience with multi-system organ failure - Familiarity with IV insulin protocols - Experience with GI surgery - Experience with chronic/acute renal failure - Experience in CVA/acute stroke management - Experience with external ventricular drains - Knowledge of hypothermia protocol - Experience with ICP monitoring - Experience in post-neurosurgery management - Knowledge of spinal cord injury management - Experience with traumatic brain injury - Skills in respiratory/thoracic care - Knowledge of infection prevention and isolation precautions - Phlebotomy experience - Experience with surgical wounds and drains Description: This position is for an ICU Registered Nurse. The role requires a focus on critical care for patients in need of transplant services. The candidate will be expected to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed. Weekly patient ratios will be 2:1 for days and nights. The work will involve care for patients with diverse diagnoses, including post-transplant and severe liver and kidney diseases. Interdisciplinary support will include various medical teams such as IV, physical therapy, and pharmacy. Key tasks will involve monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and providing ongoing assessments and interventions. The candidate should be comfortable using technology, including charting systems. Effective communication and teamwork skills are essential in this multidisciplinary environment. Compliance with infection prevention protocols and maintaining patient safety is required.
