Cynet Health to find a qualified Telemetry RN in Martinsburg, West
Virginia, 25401! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing

travel experience, at least 1 year of travel Description: Drivers
license required with submission. Any license hits need to be
disclosed at time of submission. Unit has 20 beds, all private
rooms. Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 for telemetry patients.
Average number of patients seen or admitted is variable, from 1-2
discharges and admissions to 10 per day. Common diagnoses include
telemetry, post-catheterization, and medical/surgical patients with
telemetry monitoring needs. Staffing includes 2 Patient Care
Technicians for 20 beds. Patient Care Technician responsibilities
include ambulating patients, blood sugar monitoring, vitals checks,
bathing, documentation, feeding, and turning. Shared rounding is
conducted every 2 hours with nurses. There are 10 rooms with
hardwired monitors; the remaining rooms are portable telemetry
monitor capable. Monitoring techs are present throughout the
facility and alert nurses to any issues. Nurses are expected to
have an understanding of basic dysrhythmia and verify telemetry
strip interpretation. A unit-based pharmacist is available during
daytime hours. Nurses administer reconstituted antibiotics and may
manage titrating heparin or diltiazem under pharmacy guidelines.
Respiratory Therapy is on-site 24/7, with nurses allowed to
administer nebulizers and other breathing treatments. Physician
coverage is available 24/7 by a covering hospitalist. Nurses are
responsible for placing IVs but only draw labs from central lines
if ordered. Shifts are 12 hours, either day or night. Block
scheduling and self-scheduling options are available for travelers.
Weekend and holiday requirements include every other weekend and
six major holidays. Nurses are expected to wear navy blue scrubs.
Travelers may be asked to precept or perform charge duties
depending on comfort level. Cancellation policy allows for 2
canceled shifts per 13-week assignment. Charting is completed using
