Job Description HonorVet Technologies is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Baltimore, Maryland. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Stepdown - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 06/30/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Title: RN - Stepdown Location: Baltimore, MD 21215 Duration: 13 weeks Description: Key Responsibilities - Patient Monitoring: - Continuously interpret and respond to telemetry/ECG readings. - Perform frequent head-to-toe assessments (hourly to every 2–4 hours). - Monitor and titrate IV drips (vasopressors, inotropes, IV antihypertensives). - Clinical Interventions: - Administer medications, blood products, and infusions per orders. - Manage post-op patients (e.g., post-cardiac surgery, vascular procedures). - Recognize early signs of deterioration and implement rapid interventions or escalation. - Care Coordination: - Collaborate with physicians (hospitalists, intensivists), respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and case managers. - Facilitate timely diagnostics (lab draws, imaging studies) and consults. - Prepare patients for transfer to lower acuity units or discharge planning. - Documentation & Compliance: - Accurately chart assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EMR (Epic, Cerner, etc.). - Adhere to hospital policies, JCAHO standards, and infection-control protocols. - Participate in unit-based performance improvement and patient safety initiatives. - Patient/Family Education: - Teach patients and families about care plans, use of monitoring equipment, and post-discharge instructions. - Provide emotional support and clear communication about recovery goals.
