The Role in Brief:
AI Engineer
EAB is seeking experienced data scientists of diverse talents and interests to help grow our industry-leading software platform's artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities. Whether you are by nature a researcher with a quantitative bent interested in tackling some of the most impactful questions in the social sciences, or a software engineer who wants to build a world-class AI platform, you can carve out a place for yourself on our team. We are a team working to discover, build, and scale AI/LLM solutions that help colleges and universities support their students from the application phase to graduation and beyond in a positive, inquisitive, and collaborative environment.
This position is open to remote employment within the continental United States.
Primary Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with AI engineers and software engineers to integrate AI into production software systems
  
• Build internal tools for AI and analytics workflows
  
• Manage data processing pipelines for integrating terabyte-scale data from multiple sources into our AI applications
  
• Write Python code using current best practices
  
• Coordinate with product managers, software engineers, and customer-facing teams on product roadmap and enhancements
  
  Basic Qualifications:
  
  
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, or equivalent experience
  
• 2+ years of professional experience in a technical development role
  
• Experience building AI applications and integrations
  
• Experience creating RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) workflows
  
• Experience with vector databases/embeddings
  
• Demonstrated proficiency in Python
  
• Familiarity with AWS environments (EC2, S3, Lambda)
  
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with both technical and non-technical team members
  
• Conscientious, curious, dedicated, and quality-focused
  
  Ideal Qualifications:
  
  
• Multiple demonstrated projects building AI applications, personal or work related
  
• Deep understanding of RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) workflows
  
• Professional experience with software engineering, data warehousing, Linux systems
  
• Experience with AWS Bedrock

  Compensation:
  The anticipated starting salary (base) range for this role is $76,500 - $109,000 per year. Actual salary varies due to factors that may include but not be limited to relevant experience, skills, and location. At EAB, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the starting salary range for their role.
  This hire will additionally be eligible for discretionary bonus or incentive compensation. Variable compensation may depend on various factors, such as individual and organizational performance.
