Job Description Job Description SUMMARY: Primarily assigned to
instruct specific training classes or lessons, this position also
plans, schedules, coordinates, facilitates, and presents training
focused on providing the highest quality security personnel
contracts supported by the Federal Services Division (FSD) and any
training offered by the Walden Training Academy. They will work
with individuals or groups, teaching them how to use equipment,
perform tasks, etc. They also need to be good at interacting with
people, often dealing with participants who are learning new skills
for the first time. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: •
Participates with the training team, conducting training analysis
of contract statements of work and other mandates to determine
training requirements within the FSD; • Facilitates individual
training, group instruction, demonstrations, meetings, and
conferences, as directed by the Academy Manager or FSD management;
• Responsible for all contract training compliance mandates within
the FSD; • Creates and edits training programs in accordance with
Statements of Work requirements and customer approval requirements;
• Coordinates and facilitates assigned training programs,
re-training programs, annual in-service training, and specialized
training sessions for security officers, court security officers,
and security supervisors within the FSD; • Assists in business
development, capture management, and proposal production efforts,
including, but not limited to, assistance as a subject matter
expert, assignment of related drafting of narrative (copy) for
proposal efforts; • Supports onboarding activities within the FSD
and delivers orientation training to new employees; • Maintains
records and prepares accurate and timely reports both manually and
through automated methods (LMS) • Records and maintains
certification requirements and credentials. • May assist in
regulating licensure to ensure 100% compliance • Assemble packets
for submission to ASRB, TNANG, TN POST, etc. • Assist in online
applications for submission • Perform all other duties as assigned
by the Academy Manager. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has

this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

Instructor(s) shall have a background with a minimum of two years
of successful experience in training (civilian community law
enforcement, military service law enforcement or
commercial/industrial security force service). Contractor may
propose, by written request, an employee for a training instructor
position who lacks the above experience, provided Contractor offers
evidence of similar training experience. Acceptance of such an
alternative shall be at the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
Training Instructor shall possess appropriate certifications to
perform First Aid, CPR, AED, and firearms instructions. Training
Instructors for First Aid, CPR, and AED must have an Instructor
certification from ARC or AHA. Firearms Instructors will have the
appropriate state certification to teach Firearms Training. Basic
and Refresher Expandable baton, OC spray, Defensive tactics &
Firearms Training. Proposed trainer(s) completed an approved and
accredited Principles of Instruction course or similar training
(e.g., ASP, Monadnock, NRA, a Police Academy, state POST Academy,
FLETC, or military training course) certifying them as an
instructor. • Associate degree from a college or university; at
least three years of management experience and/or training; or
equivalent combination of education and experience. • Prior Law
Enforcement and or Military training instructor preferred. •
Ability to obtain State Trainer Certification, Weapons Trainer
Certification (NRA, etc.). non-lethal weapons (baton, OC,
handcuffs, etc). Must be at least 21 years of age; Ability to pass
a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check. must be
able to travel up to 10%. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read,
analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional
journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations using
the English language. Ability to write reports, internal business
correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively
present information and respond to questions from groups of
managers, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts,
commissions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic
algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical
problems; Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished
in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to deal with
problems involving several concrete variables in standardized
situations. COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, the
Training Instructor must possess intermediate to advanced skills in
Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and
PowerPoin,t and should have a working knowledge of Learning
Management Systems, Internet programs, and other software as
required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: National Weapons
Detection Training Program (NWDTP) Certification preferred.
Current/valid state driver's license OTHER QUALIFICATIONS : Must be
able to pass a background and drug test. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The
