Job Description:

Physicians Practice & Research - Nephrologist The Practice We are a rapidly growing solo nephrology practice seeking a compassionate and dedicated physician to join our practice. The responsibilities of this position are demanding but rewarding as we seek to treat disease while addressing the overall wellness of our patients. We have built our reputation over the last ten years as a practice that puts patient care first. We know our patients by name and we make sure we are available to them when they need. Our practice has built a reputation not just in our community but also the hospitals we partner with and we have become the place other physicians send their family for care. Our goal is to treat patients to the point they no longer need us by diminishing the progression of disease in conjunction with primary care involvement. Our offices are also involved in clinical trials which provide the opportunity for participating in ground breaking research as well as financial incentives for all interested partners. The Position A great physician is not only highly qualified but also driven by the desire to make a difference in their patients well-being and provide real help by reversing the course of their disease. This requires taking time to listen to patients and family members in order to understand the root of the problem and working to determine realistic and specific recommendations for care that, when implemented, patients can understand and therefor manage. Your goal is not just to treat but to educate; sharing with patients the progression/regression of their condition and the why behind it. You must be board certified and knowledgeable in regards to disease, epidemiology, and specific nephrological medical conditions. You are abreast of up to date information, with a desire for professional growth and a willingness to learn in order to effectively interpret symptoms and diagnose conditions. You would be responsible for providing comprehensive and compassionate care, utilizing clear communication, and providing specific input for our patients as well as their families, while working in cooperation with their general practitioners and other physicians involved in patient care. Our focus is to maintain accessibility and address concerns as quickly and efficiently as possible. Every patient should feel they are treated with respect and care and have a great understanding. Main duties and responsibilities would include:

  • Physicians will be responsible for patients in the office, hospital, and dialysis unit
  • Collaborate with other physicians, nurses, and medical support staff to form a high performing medical team
  • Maintain adequate documentation of patient condition, diagnosis, and plan of care
  • Cultivate a climate of trust and compassion for patients
  • Remain up-to-speed with developments and best practices in medicine
  • Available for on-call every 3rd weekend Requirements
    • License to practice in the United States
    • Eligible to practice in Virginia
    • Board certification in nephrology
    • Respect for patient's confidentiality
    • Compassionate and approachable
    • Responsible and trustworthy Benefits and Compensation Our offices work in cooperation with a large medical group that provides administrative assistance in billing and coding practices. Unpaid or delays of billing are minimal and regular audits are conducted in order to advise physicians in best practices for successful reimbursement rates. In addition to administrative support, our physicians group provides access to comprehensive retirement and health insurance programs and can provide legal support if necessary. Liability insurance is covered by the practice. These benefits are provided to all physicians in our office. Physicians who join our practice will begin seeing patients on day one as a member of our team but will also be responsible for bringing in new patients. Our practice policy is to provide open and clear communication about finances and goals for gaining equity in our business. While this is initially not a full time position, hours will expand in conjunction with patient volume and a partner track is expected once a physician reaches full time. Initial requirements are a minimum of 4 hours a day. We offer competitive salary and generous paid leave. To Apply:
